Illacrimo WordPress Theme Release

Hey Elena,

Just installed the theme today and its ballin, but I’m having same problem as Scott. I deleted the extra plugins in the funcitons.php but i still get this error:

how do you go about turning off the pluggable plugin?

getting rid of functions.php gets rid of all the errors and the recent-comments plug in works fine. now just have to get the widget capability back.

I’ve got one more question. I really like on the pages tab how when your home the tab is highlighted in white. However on the tabs for other pages you add like an ‘about’ tab for example their is no highlight. I was wondering if there was a way to modify the theme to add this.

I just wanted to say thanks, the theme looks awesome. I love it.
I’ve been looking around at themes to use in the redesign of our blog and I’ve looked through literally hundreds of themes, both free and premium, but decided to use this one.

I haven’t applied the redesign on our blog yet, but I’m going to upload and activate it this Sunday. So you can see the before now and after then if you like. The website is http://www.webaddict.co.za

Be warned though, I’ve adapted the theme quite a lot to fit in with the look and feel we’re going with.

I couldn’t understand some parts of this article rimo WordPress Theme Release – Design Disease – Professional Blog Design, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.

I’ve modified some this template to use it in my blog.
I’ve changed some widths of the post and the sidebars, because the original theme don’t have so much space for the post.
But I have a problem with the blogroll. An arrow appears before the title, it must be for this common problem as which it had WordPress (I use a free blog service, and I cannot change anything of the site by FTP, also it uses WordPress 1.3)
I use de Sidebar Widgets plugin.
How can I take it from him?

i have no issues with it excep getting to run the Flickr Photostream…
can i have a For Dummies explanation as to how it is to be setup ??…
i have tried n tried and the flickr images just won show.. :(((….

Thanks for the great theme, but I have a question. I solved the problem with the header warning message, but now I am trying to figure out the plugins native to the theme (flickr, gravatar,…). Should they be showing up somewhere in admin? I am using the widget version.

But when I download the XML from here: http://themesblogger.blogspot.com/search/label/0 and use it in Blogger, it seems to be problem with the date. Instead of 21 Sep (like demo, beside the post title), it was Friday Sep???

Awesome theme. Unfortuantely, the standard “illacrimo 1.01 by Design Disease” version gives I.E. 7.0 (XP SP2) an error:

No pluggins have been enabled. The code looks fine to me, so I’m most puzzled by this.

OK. For those showing an error with internet explorer, delete this line from header.php

/javascript/imghover.js”>

Coz that .js file never came with the distro, and that’s what is tripping up I.E.

Is the skin incompatible with Internet Explorer? Because it looks fine in Firefox, but in IE the sidebars don’t appear until after all the main posts.

hi, this is a great theme! love the neatness.
i realize when i put in youtube in the post, the 2 columns tend to be pushed down ie gets out of alignment.
anyway to resolve this?

I have downloaded widget ready illacrimo, as the theme look so cool i can’t hold back to download and install;

in out theme work properly, (forget sidebar down, i know that bcoz some picture are bigger in size)

But am not able to login my admin pennal;

To fix the IE6 issue, you need to make sure if you embed YouTube or imgs that they are not too large.

If I embed YouTube videos now, I drop the size down by 1/3 or 1/2 and the IE6 problem goes away.

Not the best fix, but it does work.

I love the Illacrimo theme and have used it on my page http://www.sonzyskitchen.com – Since I would like to post wider pictures on my page, can you help me on how to increase the width of the “posts” column without disturbing the other things.

Would appreciate a reply on this.

In preparing to launch a new business, I must have looked at 500 themes. Some of them were quite good but none has impressed me like Illacrimo. It’s beautiful, functional, and relatively easy for a non-programmer like me to customize. Thank you very much!

Earlier in the comments you mentioned that you are working on an update for Illacrimo (Albeo?). Is that still something you plan to release, and if so, when? I ask because I don’t want to modify your current theme too much if an upgrade is coming soon.

Excellent theme, but could use some enhanements:
- highlighting of current page is non-standard and could simply be done by css, just add these lines:

Also link display doesn’t work with my_links_order plugin, change sidebar.php like this to fix:

I’m having the same feed problem as Joe above. There’s a blank like at the top of my page that’s killing my feed validation. Other themes work fine. How do I remove that blank line?

Found my problem. There was a blank line in the functions.php file between the first and second PHP brackets.

fantastic theme. i trawled the web for days looking for something suitably slick and professional, and fully expected to have to pay for one before i found this. glad i paid a visit here too as i’ve managed to sort out a couple of bugs – the old line 24 thing.

I was suppose to use this theme but I’ve check it on IE, it has some problem on its sidebar. I prefer using bloggingpro by design disease on my other blog. I really like your themes. Its simple and elegant looking.

Love Illacrimo. Left column with the Date “17 Aug” next to a post does not include a year. Would be nice to have the year. How could I get the year in there? I publish articles on local annual events, but now I can’t tell the difference between articles written in 06 or 07 or 08 or next year. I have a post about the Clallam County Fair, but it turns out that is last year’s agenda. It is confusing everyone.

BTW there is some error in the Theme Functions (functions.php) file in the Recent Comments section. Gotta remove the entire coding to avoid the ‘headers already sent’ error message.

Hey I have a problem with the theme..the date isn’t showing up on the left side of each post it only shows 2 dots.. please help!

I am unable to createa new page. On my page I tried to make a separate about section, but the tab always shows the same info that shows up on the home page. I am not very good at this, lol…

But what I wanna know is why this theme doesn’t work well with IE6, and you know, some times the sidebars are below the main post.
And I do understand actually this is the problem of the foolish IE6, but if you can give us a IE6 css code so that Illacrimo can be perfect.

Nice theme indeed. Just downloaded and activated it on my blog (under construction). Pardon the ignorance, but how can i change the subtitle from the standard ‘Just another WordPress weblog’. I wanted my own subtitle. Appreciate any help on this. Cheers!

Sorry, seems that this stripped out the HTML in my post. Ok, so just before the end “body” tag in footer.php, add this line:

and in case that doesn’t display properly, here it is:

(make sure to put the less than sign and greater than sign at the front and end respectively)

Can I use this for blogger? (google)?
I tried editing this through Dreamweaver and it shows up only the php icons

after updating WordPress to verison 2.8.2 I’m now missing my footer ;-) Any ideas to solve this problem?

I suggest removing the end and start PHP tags in the middle of functions.php thus making it a single block of PHP (leaving in the comment section). This fixes a number of “headers sent” errors as all functions are registered in the same PHP execution instead of sequential PHP executions.
